Behind the Games #03 – Games Accelerator Alumni-Special

On Wednesday, 18 March, the event format ‘Behind the Games’ once again invites you to take a look behind the scenes of game development. Starting at 6:30 p.m., entrepreneurs and developers Franziska Weser (Heartucate) and René Habermann (Bippinbits) will talk about their personal experiences in developing their own games.

The event will focus on providing honest insights into the game development process. The two developers will not only talk about successful moments, but also about the challenges, hurdles and important lessons learned in connection with the development and release of a game.

Franziska Weser was part of the first start-up class of the R42 Games Accelerator in 2022. With her company Heartucate, she develops edutainment games and interactive learning and experience applications using augmented reality (AR). These applications are designed to promote collaborative learning and offer educational institutions such as schools, companies and museums new opportunities for innovative educational formats on current topics. At ‘Behind the Games #3,’ she will provide insights into the development process of her project ‘Reise in die Arktis’ (engl. Journey to the Arctic).

René Habermann took part in the programme’s second start-up class a year later. Since then, he has gained extensive experience in game development with his studio Bippinbits and has already achieved considerable success with his games. At the event, he will talk about the development of his game ‘PVKK: Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant’ (engl. Planetary Defence Cannon Commander).

Following the talks, visitors will have the opportunity to chat with Franziska Weser and René Habermann and network with other guests from the scene. Bar42 will provide food and drinks.
